Proposed founding benefits
- 20% off winter membership
- Off winter membership fees during the 10-year term, subject to final pricing and rules.
- Transferable
- Proposed ability to transfer to another eligible member, with value based on the remaining term.
- Founding recognition
- Recognition at the dome and an invitation to a private opening celebration.
- 10% off at The Racket House
- On racquets, balls and equipment, subject to partner confirmation.
- Five guest-fee passes a year
- Stated estimated value $150 annually; final terms to be confirmed.
- Seeking 100 founding members
- Founding price to be announced
- No payment requested today
Clear terms. No payment until play is real.
The concept is a letter of intent, not an upfront sale. Any commitment would need carefully written conditions and member protections.
- Pay only if the dome opens
- Sign a conditional letter of intent. The founding contribution would become payable only after the nonprofit project is approved, the facility is built and ready for play, and final membership terms are accepted.
- Transfer if life changes
- If you move or can no longer play, the proposed membership could be transferred to another eligible member. The transfer value would be based on the remaining years, using a formula disclosed in the final agreement.
- Know what is, and isn’t, promised
- Founding status would not mean ownership shares, guaranteed court bookings, tax-deductible contributions, investment returns or voting rights beyond those in the nonprofit’s bylaws.
Expressions of interest do not reserve a place or create an obligation to pay. No member count is shown because the nonprofit and commitment process have not yet been established.
Proposed benefits only. This is not a currently available membership contract. Final terms depend on nonprofit formation, facility approvals, funding, legal review and opening.
Questions to resolve before anyone signs
- Is this an official City offer?
- No. This is a community concept page. It is not endorsed by or affiliated with the City, Tennis Canada, Rogers or The Racket House. City land, partnership and project approvals would need to be confirmed separately.
- What does “20% off winter membership” mean?
- The proposed discount would apply to the facility’s standard winter membership fee in each eligible year. Future fees, included services and any separate court booking charges need to be set before the offer is finalized.
- How could transfers work?
- A possible formula would pro-rate the unused full years. For example, after three years, seven of ten years remain. The final agreement would set the exact formula, transfer process and any limits.
- What if the facility is never built?
- The proposed letter of intent should say no payment is due unless clear conditions are met. If the project does not proceed, the commitment should expire without payment. Final documents should define timing, cancellation and member protections.
